“At Global View Capital Advisors of Idaho Falls, we help people plan for their futures, including their retirement. We help them invest in the stock markets and learn the proper ways to save as well as make money. We tactically manage the money our clients invest and do our best with that to miss as many of the down markets as we can while catching the upside of markets. This enables us to preserve our clients’ assets as much as possible, no matter what the markets are doing. Our approach, when compared to the normal buy and hold, is something that in the past only the wealthy could afford,” Steven explains.
As a financial advisor, Steven’s personal mission is to help his clients find success and financial security. Or as he puts it, “to design, grow, and protect the individual economies of families.” His favorite part of the job is seeing the excitement and happiness people feel when they follow a plan and are hungry for the next step. Steven expects his close relationships with clients to last a lifetime. “Life is about change and a financial plan should change as life’s circumstances do. I want to be there for the milestones. From start to finish, and all the changes in-between.” He’ll tell you it is a privilege and a great responsibility to be trusted by his clients.
Throughout his career, Steven has seen one common thread that brings success: Education coupled with opportunity. It has always been his philosophy to provide better education for those he serves and then to let them take an active role in the decision-making process. “No one knows your needs like you do,” he says. “The best thing I can do is to empower you with knowledge, and make you aware of the opportunities you have.”
Steven has lived in a lot of places, but his roots are in the mountains of the West. He attended Utah State University and holds degrees in exercise physiology and business, along with master’s degrees in education as well as cardiovascular rehabilitation. He did part of his medical training at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
Heavily involved in local community endeavors, Steven says, “I have always been a big supporter of cardiovascular health, especially in promoting education about heart disease in women. I brought the Red Dress Gala Award fundraising events to Southeastern Idaho to benefit heart and stroke patients.” Steven was also an active leader in scouting for over 40 years, teaching leadership skills to adults at Wood Badge and spending 10 years teaching in the National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) programs. He served two years as an LDS missionary, and has spent decades coaching and shaping the lives of youth. “Shaping today’s youth is shaping the future. I love seeing people grow and learn how to succeed,” he says.
Married to his best friend, Jennifer, the couple lives in Idaho Falls and together have five grown children as well as several grandchildren. “We are looking forward to more,” he says. When he’s not working, Steven enjoys being a dad, coaching, teaching, gospel studies, dirt bike riding, shooting, serving others, fixing things, and trying to keep up with his grandkids. He’s been an athlete his entire life. He says, “In the past I have run many marathons (26.2 miles), even winning some. I’ve competed and finished Ironman distances along with long distance (100 miles) cycling.”
Steven grew up working on farms and ranches and learned the value of work early in life. In fact, his philosophy is that most things can be solved with hard work. He says, “I learned that you can make anything fun, even hard work. I love people and find the most enjoyment in helping others. Family is everything to me and I love being a husband and a father.”
